Samsung expands its 9100 PRO SSD lineup with new 8TB models
Samsung has officially announced two new models of its 9100 PRO series SSD, giving PC builders 8TB PCIe 5.0 storage options. These new SSDs will be available in mid-September, with availability with and without a pre-attached heatsink.
These new 8TB SSD variants will deliver sequential read speeds of up to 14,800 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 13,400 MB/s. They will also offer random read/write speeds of up to 2,200K and 2,600K IOPS, respectively. This makes these SSDs ideal for intensive productivity workloads.
The standard version of this SSD reportedly costs £769.99 while the heatsink model costs £781.49. This makes these new SSDs roughly two times as expensive as this drive’s 4TB counterpart. Not bad for a PCIe 5.0 SSD with this capacity.
1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models of the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD are already available. Samsung’s new 8TB SSD model will become available in mid-September. At launch, this will be the highest capacity consumer-grade PCIe 5.0 available, making it a must for users who want to maximise storage density and performance.
