Intel boasts more cores, higher clocks, and faster memory support with its “Arrow Lake
Refresh” CPUs
Specifications for Intel’s long-rumoured Core Ultra 200 PLUS series of CPU have leaked, a refreshed lineup of Arrow Lake processors that boast improved specifications.
Across the lineup, these new processors feature support for faster DDR5 memory, officially supporting DDR5-7200 memory. Furthermore, these CPUs reportedly feature a mix of higher clock speeds and higher core counts. These changes should increase Intel’s single-threaded and multi-threaded performance. Below are the improvements that Intel has made to its Ultra 9, 7, and 5 series processors.
Core Ultra 200 Plus series upgrades – Via Videocardz
- Intel Core Ultra 9 285K to Core Ultra 9 290K PLUS – + 100MHz P-Core Maximum Clock speed
- Intel Core Ultra 7 265K to Core Ultra 7 270K PLUS – + 4 E-Cores
- Intel Core Ultra 5 245K to Core Ultra 5 250K PLUS – + 100 MHz P-Core Maximum Clock Speed + 4 E-Cores
Arrow Lake, but better
Intel’s new Core Ultra flagship only features faster CPU cores. Intel has not crafted new Arrow Lake silicon to deliver higher core counts. This effectively makes the Ultra 9 290K PLUS a higher-speed version of the Ultra 9 285K.
The Ultra 7 270 PLUS and Ultra 5 250K PLUS both feature four additional E-cores. This enables higher levels of multi-threaded performance. It also makes the Core Ultra 7 270K PLUS a lower clocked version of the Ultra 9 285K that also supports higher memory speeds.

Note that it is currently unknown if Intel has changed the interconnect speeds on its new Core Ultra 200 series CPUs. Intel may be shipping these new CPUs with higher Fabric (SOC Tile/NGU) and Die-to-Die (D2D) speeds to decrease latencies and enhance performance. This could greatly increase Intel’s out-of-the-box CPU performance of its new “PLUS” series CPU models in certain workloads. If this is the case, Intel could dramatically increase its gaming performance with these new CPU models.
