AMD’s workstation-grade Radeon AI PRO R9700 GPU will soon be available through retailers

AMD has confirmed that its Radeon AI Pro R9700 will soon be available directly through retailers. The 32GB graphics card will have an MSRP of $1,299. Previously, this GPU was only available in pre-built systems, meaning users needed entirely new PCs to utilise it. On October 27th, that will change. DIY users rejoice!

This graphics card is based on the same silicon as AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU, with its primary upgrade being its large 32GB frame buffer. This workstation GPU is a two-slot graphics card with a TDP ot 300W. This GPU is powered by two 8-pin PCIe power connectors and features four DisplayPort outputs.

With its two-slot blower-style design, AMD have created this GPU with multi-GPU systems in mind. This will allow system builders to create PCs with up to four of these graphics cards installed. However, custom variants of this GPU will be available though AMD’s AIB partners.

With this GPU, AMD is giving workstation users an affordable graphics card that features 32GB of memory. While its $1,299 price tag is high, it’s worth noting that an Nvidia workstation GPU with this much VRAM would cost over £2000.
